Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 30) — Rejoice, A’TIN! Homegrown talent SB19 is nominated at this year’s Billboard Music Awards alongside top global artists.
The five-member P-pop act is in the running to win the Top Social Artist award side by side with famed K-pop groups BTS, Blackpink, and SEVENTEEN. They are going up against American pop superstar Ariana Grande.
According to Billboard, “finalists and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data.”
BTS has been bringing home the award since 2017.
SB19, which debuted in 2018 under ShowBT Philippines, consists of Pablo, Josh, Justin, Stell, and Ken. They are making waves in the entertainment scene in the Philippines and abroad with their hit songs “Go Up,” “Alab,” and latest comeback release “What?”
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air live on NBC on May 23 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
