
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 14) — The top official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva shared a copy of his pathology report from the Chinese Genral Hospital.
“As I was preparing for the Senate Inquiry on Monday, I took my RT-PCR at the Chinese General Hospital yesterday as part of the requirement. This morning I received the result. I TESTED POSITIVE,” he wrote.
Villanueva apologized to those he has come in close contact with and advised them to the necessary precautions.
On Thursday, Philippine National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas also tested positive for the virus.
