Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 12) — While the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is seeking a slightly lower funding for next year, its top official said it would not harm the agency’s operations.
“I don’t think it will have a big impact on our program implementations next year,” TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz told CNN Philippines’ One-on-One that aired Monday.
TESDA has proposed a budget of ₱13.7 billion for 2023, a 2% cut from this year’s ₱14.02 billion.
Cruz said the “bulk of the budget” will finance TESDA’s scholarship program.
“This will also include the budget for the construction of additional innovation centers, a new concept in training which will involve modern equipment for the conduct of trainings,” he added.
Currently, TESDA has already established five innovation centers.
