Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 30) – Around 37 business organizations have pledged to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through Go Negosyo’s Kapatid Angat Lahat program.
Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said the program launched during the MSME summit will utilize a “big brother, small brother” concept — where big companies aid small enterprises by giving them access to money, markets, and mentoring.
“It’s not merely surviving in this pandemic. What we have to do is we have to make our economy more inclusive,” Concepcion told CNN Philippines.
Concepcion, an advocate of the sector, noted that MSMEs make up 99% of the entire business community and hire 60% of the entire workforce.

Even after the economy has opened up, Concepcion said external factors — including the Russia-Ukraine crisis — remain a challenge for MSMEs.
What the country really needs, according to the businessman, is for the “big brothers” or big corporations to continuously help out their “small brothers” or the MSMEs.
