Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 10) — Senator Robin Padilla on Tuesday suggested using ropeway cable cars together with other proposed measures to strengthen the country’s mass transportation system and solve the perennial traffic problem.
Padilla proposed the idea after Sen. JV Ejercito stressed the need to improve our railways and upgrade train systems during the plenary session.

Padilla briefly suggested the cable car concept and agreed that railways and train systems are best suited for Filipinos, citing the country’s geography.
The actor-turned-senator then praised Ejercito’s call and said he wanted to be a part of it.

The senator also acknowledged that a poorly developed country often has a bad transportation system.
Padilla, however, said he only suggested the idea as a response to Ejercito’s speech and did not elaborate or reveal plans regarding the cable car system.
