Ford Models was established in 1946 and considered one of the top modeling agencies in the world. It discovered famous models like Brooke Shields and Naomi Campbell.
Abesamis is the daughter of Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 1984 and Miss Universe 1984 3rd runner-up Desiree Verdadero.
Even before following the footsteps of her mother in the pageant scene, Abesamis was already a part of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines.
In 2019, she was crowned 1st runner-up but later on took over the Bb. Pilipinas Grand International title after Samantha Lo resigned from her post.
Despite assuming the title, Abesamis was not able to compete in Miss Grand International 2020 due to age limit caused by the delay of the MGI contest due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
She was replaced by Samantha Bernardo, who went on to finish first runner-up in the pageant in Bangkok, Thailand.
