Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 31) — Tropical Depression Ester exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 5 a.m. Sunday, but the southwest monsoon or habagat will still bring rains over parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA said rains will continue to drench Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.
Visayas, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms also caused by the southwest monsoon.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Ester was last seen 835 kilometers east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon approaching Ryuku Islands in Japan with Maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
