Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 6) — Vice President Leni Robredo has condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying all actions of bullying and “unprovoked aggression” must be denounced.

“It is a moral imperative to stand against bullying and unprovoked aggression, especially given the reports of civilians and residential areas deliberately targeted in the course of this invasion,” Robredo said in a statement Sunday.

The Vice President also expressed her admiration of Ukraine’s courage and resilience, saying she is proud of their efforts to defend their freedom.

“I stand firmly behind the Philippine government’s stance supporting the international community in condemning the invasion of Ukraine,” she added.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier said there would come a time when the Philippines would have to take sides in the conflict.

“Ako naman [For me], we stay neutral. But reality tells me that in the end, we’ll just have to select which side we would be,” Duterte said on March 4.
