Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 5) — Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz tapped renowned fashion designer Francis Libiran to create her wedding gown.
“Love is Golden. The World Champion deserves only the gold standard in fashion design on her special day!,” said Libiran in an Instagram post.
“#FrancisLibiran is beaming with pride to be chosen by 2020 Tokyo Olympics Gold Medalist [Hidilyn Diaz] and fiancé Julius Narajo as the official designer for their much-awaited wedding,” he added.
Diaz got engaged to her partner and coach Julius Naranjo in October last year.
The weightlifter from Zamboanga brought home the country’s first ever Olympic medal.
Libiran’s creation has been worn by Hollywood stars including Tyra Banks, Billy Porter, Darren Criss and Mena Massoud, and a number of top Filipino celebrities.
He also dressed beauty queens like Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa during their competitions.
