
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 14) — A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Lubang, Occidental Mindoro early Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.
Meanwhile, Lubang Mayor Mike Orayani said that no casualties were reported and only two houses in the municipality were damaged.
The tectonic earthquake was recorded at 5:05 a.m. It struck 79 degrees west of Lubang and had a depth of 28 km, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs added that aftershocks are expected.
Instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:
Intensity III – Calumpit, Bulacan; Guagua, Pampanga; Olongapo City; Carmona, and Tagaytay, Cavite; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; Navotas City.
Intensity II – Las Piñas City; Marikina City; Muntinlupa City; Quezon City; Pasig City; Baler, Aurora; Malolos City, Marilao, Pandi, Plaridel, San Ildefonso, and San Rafael, Bulacan; Gapan, and Palayan, Nueva Ecija;Iba, Zambales; Batangas City, and Talisay, Batangas; Dolores, and Gumaca, Quezon; Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
Intensity I – Parañaque City; Pateros; Dagupan City; Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan; Cabanatuan City and San Jose City in Nueva Ecija; Magalang in Pampanga; Tarlac City; Los Baños in Laguna; Infanta, Lucban, Mauban, Mulanay and Polillo in Quezon; San Jose in Occidental Mindoro; Roxas in Oriental Mindoro; and Puerto Princesa City.
