Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 12) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Saturday said it has officially closed the applications for the one-time cash aid for workers affected by the implementation of Alert Level 3 in several areas early this year.
In a statement, DOLE said Labor Advisory No. 06 series of 2022 issued on March 11 stated that the applications for COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) 3 was closed last March 4.
As of March 6, the department said it has approved the CAMP 3 application of 29,973 workers.
But it assured that it will continue to process and evaluate all applications received before the closure.
It added that should Alert Level 3 be reimposed, the applications for CAMP will be opened again.
“DOLE is ready to continue providing support to affected workers through its various assistance programs and employment facilitation services,” said Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
The department said the National Capital Region has the most number of applicant workers with 58,008, followed by Calabarzon with 18,935, and Central Luzon with 17,024.
Most of the workers who have applied for CAMP came from establishments that implemented temporary closure, it also said.
“Moreover, most of the applicant establishments belong to micro (2,714 or 51 percent) and small (2,324 or 44 percent) enterprises,” it added.
The one-time cash aid of P5,000 under CAMP 3 prioritizes those who were retrenched or affected by the permanent or temporary closure of their workplaces due to the implementation of Alert Level 3 in Metro Manila and other areas.
