Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 25) — The Philippines no longer sits at the bottom of Bloomberg’s COVID-19 resilience ranking as it improved a few notches this month.
The latest list of the “best and worst places” to be during the COVID-19 pandemic shows that the country now ranks 50th – up three spots from the bottom 53rd in January.
Bloomberg gave the Philippines a total resilience score of 51.8. Its monthly report takes a look at a nation’s crisis response, including healthcare quality, vaccination coverage, and reopening efforts.
Pakistan took the last spot due to low inoculation rate, tight restrictions, and “weak” healthcare infrastructure, according to Bloomberg.
Virus-stricken Hong Kong meanwhile dropped 19 places to take the 52nd spot.
