DOH lists 3,050 new COVID-19 cases, zero deaths due to technical problem

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 13) — The Department of Health on Sunday logged 3,050 new COVID-19 cases in the country, the third consecutive time the single-day count stayed at the 3,000 mark.

This raised the total tally to 3,637,280, where 2.2% or 81,394 are active cases or people currently sick.

Of the newly reported infections, the DOH said 99% occurred within the last two weeks. It listed the top contributing regions as Metro Manila with 556 cases, Western Visayas with 367, and Calabarzon with 311.

Recoveries also rose to 3,500,956 with 5,811 new survivors.

The death toll, however, stayed at 54,930 as the DOH reported no new deaths “due to the technical issues in extracting data from COVIDKaya.” The DOH said the technical issues have been relayed to the Department of Information and Communications Technology, which is currently addressing the problem.

Based on the latest bulletin, 71,944 of the active cases are mild; 4,546 are asymptomatic; 3,068 are moderate; 1,460 are severe; and 326 are critical. The positivity rate fell to 11.7% from Saturday’s 14.3%. This is based on 31,403 tests reported on Feb. 11.

The DOH clarified that it has yet to receive results from two testing laboratories, which accounted for 0.2% of samples tested and 0.1% of positive cases in the last 14 days.

After final validation, the DOH also removed 138 duplicate entries from the total case count.
