Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 27) — Tuesday is the first day of SIM registration as required under the law. Aside from individual subscribers, businesses are also required to register.
To do that, a business enterprise or company is required to submit several documents depending on its service provider.
For Globe and DITO subscribers, they have to submit their Securities and Exchange Commission Certificate of Registration, Board Resolution designating the authorized representative, and a Special Power of Attorney for other juridical entities.
For Smart users, they will be asked to provide the business name, business address, and full name of the authorized signatory.
The SIM Registration Act gives mobile phone subscribers 180 days from Dec. 27 to register their SIM cards. This may be extended up to 120 days.
After this period, users with deactivated SIM will be given five days to still comply.
Registration may be done online for Globe and Smart subscribers, while DITO’s registration can be accessed through its app.
