Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 7) — Carlos Yulo captured the silver medal in the men’s vault category and the bronze medal in the men’s parallel bars competition at the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held Saturday in Liverpool, England (Sunday in Manila).

The 22-year-old Filipino gymnastics finished the vault final with a score of 14.950, still better than the 14.916 points that won him gold in last year’s competition.

Yulo led the standings until Armenia’s Artur Davtyan topped with an impressive 15.050 points, crowning him the new vault world champion and denying Yulo a back-to-back title. Ukraine’s Igor Radivilov clinched bronze with 14.733.

Meanwhile, Yulo captured the bronze in the parallel bars final with 15.366 points.

China’s Zou Jingyuan garnered a stunning 16.166 points, taking home the gold followed by Germany’s Lukas Dauser with 15.5.

Yulo placed eighth in the all-around final and seventh in floor exercise at this year’s world championships.
