Tugade’s son is new MIAA chief

The government has taken over the facility, but the Supreme Court pointed out it can only do so after it fully paid PIATCO.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 26) — The son of former Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade has been named the acting general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), the Office of the Press Secretary confirmed on Wednesday.

Jose Arturo Tugade, a lawyer, was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to succeed Cesar Chiong. He will manage the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and serve as the chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors of MIAA.

The older Tugade was transportation secretary during the term of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
