Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 18) — The government has replaced the One Health Pass with an e-arrival card to make travel more convenient amid the pandemic, the Department of Health said Tuesday.
The e-arrival card will serve as an online health declaration and contact tracing platform for arriving international passengers. DOH officer-in-charge Ma. Rosario Vergeire said that the government decided to replace the former system following concerns from travellers who find the registration to the One Health Pass tedious.
Unlike the One Health Pass, the e-arrival card only requires a few information and can be completed even at the airport.
“Kakaunting datos na lang ang nakalagay diyan. Wala na po masyadong hinihingi na mga requirements,” said Vergeire.
“Pangalawa, kung hindi mo ma-upload ‘yan, meron tayong special lanes sa mga airports, kung saan pagdating mo, ia-assist ka nila, doon ka mag-a-upload, doon mo makukuha ang e-arrival card mo.“
[Translation: Only a few information are needed for the e-arrival card. There are less requirements. Second, if you were not able to upload it, we have special lanes in airports, where they can assist in uploading and you can get your e-arrival card right there.]
Since September last year, all those entering the country have been required to use the One Health Pass.
Based on Inter-Agency Task Force guidelines, travelers are asked to present their One Health Pass QR code to the Bureau of Quarantine, which solely collects and processes information shared on the platform.
