MMA: Jenelysin Olsim finally battles Jihin Radzuan on Feb. 11

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 28) – Filipino mixed martial arts sensation Jenelysin Olsim will finally square off with Malaysian foe Jihin Radzuan on Feb. 11 during the ONE: BLOOD event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The Olsim-Radzuan fight is three months in the making. The two female warriors were supposed to face each other in ONE: NEXTGEN II last November.

The 24-year-old Team Lakay female bet was instead placed in lieu of Japanese fighter Itsuki Hirata in the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix semifinals.

Olsim, however, lost to India’s Ritu Phogat by unanimous decision in the semifinals.

With her bout against Radzuan finally happening, Olsim promised to put up a good showing as she will apply the lessons she learned from her defeat to the more experienced Phogat.

“My fight with Ritu taught me to be more focused, that I need to have that presence of mind and to execute the game plan in actuality. On the training aspect, nothing has changed. All I have to do now is to execute,” said Olsim.

Olsim also expressed her excitement and preparedness to go up again to the ONE Championship circle.

“Expect a highly technical battle and a more aggressive Jenelyn in this match,” she assured fans.

Olsim holds a 5-3 win-loss record, while Radzuan touts a 6-2 slate.
