Metro Manila, Philippine – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) cancelled the registration of 50 party-list groups in a resolution on Oct. 15.

Resolution No. 11281 cited Republic Act No. 7941 or the “Party-list System Act,” along with Comelec Resolution No. 11204, in which 20 party-lists were delisted for failure “to participate in the last two preceding elections.”

The groups are: 1 Alliance Advocating Autonomy Party (1AAAP), 1-United Transport Koalisyon  (1-UTAK), Agbiag Timpuyog Ilocano, Inc. (AGBIAG), Ako Ayoko Sa Bawal Na Droga (AKO), Filipino Family Party (FFP), Grains Retailers’ Confederation of the Philippines, Inc. (GRECON), Ina Na Nagmamahal Sa Anak (INANG MAHAL), Isang Lapian ng Mangingisda at Bayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran (1-LAMBAT), Luntiang Pilipinas Partylist (LUNTIAN), and One Philippines (1P).

Meanwhile, the grounds for the other 40 party-lists was failure “to obtain at least percent of the votes cast under the party-list system” from the two preceding elections.

The Comelec cited the Supreme Court ruling in the Philippine Guardians Brotherhood, Inc. vs. Commission on Elections regarding failure “to obtain a seat in the second round of seat allocation” in the last two preceding elections.

The 40 include Bayan Muna, Magdalo Para Sa Pilipino (MAGDALO), Advocacy for Teacher Empowerment Through Action Cooperation and Harmony Towards Educational Reform (A TEACHER), and Advocates & Keepers Organization of OFWS, Inc. (AKO-OFW).

The resolution states that a delisted party-list may file a verified petition for registration.

The general election is in May 2028
