Metro Manila, Philippines – Minimum wage earners in Central Visayas will get a ₱42 raise effective mid-October, the Department of Labor and Employment said in a news release on Sunday, Sept. 27
The agency said around 450,000 private sector workers will benefit from the regional wage board order, as affirmed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission, that will take effect on Oct. 14.
The new daily minimum wage rates for Class A areas will rise to ₱582, while those in Class B areas will increase to ₱542.
Class A areas, also known as Expanded Metro Cebu, are as follows:
- Carcar City
- Cebu City
- Danao City
- Lapu-Lapu City
- Mandaue City
- Naga City
- Talisay City
- Municipality of Compostela
- Municipality of Consolacion
- Municipality of Cordova
- Municipality of Liloan
- Municipality of Minglanilla
- Municipality of San Fernando
Meanwhile, Class B areas refer to other cities and municipalities.
