Metro Manila, Philippines — From gold medals to silver rings, Carlos Yulo has entered a new stage in life.
The Olympic and Asian Games gold medalist took to Instagram on Monday, Sept. 28, to share that he has been engaged with long-time partner Chloe San Jose since December 2025.
The announcement came three days after Yulo brought home gold medals in the men’s floor exercise and men’s vault finals in the 20th Asian Games in Japan.
“Sa hirap at ginhawa, sa saya at pagsubok, pipiliin kita araw-araw. At sa biyaya ng Diyos, makakasama kita hanggang sa buhay na walang hanggan,” the post read.
(Translation: Through thick and thin, I’ll choose you everyday. And by God’s grace, I will be with you forever.)
In a vlog posted by San Jose, Yulo revealed that he has planned the proposal since September 2025 before leaving for a training camp in Japan.
San Jose also recounted in an Instagram post how their relationship has only grown stronger despite the challenges they have faced.
“Through everything, God has continued to guide us, protect us, and give us the strength to keep going. And looking back now, I’m grateful even for the chapters that weren’t easy, because they brought us here,” she wrote.
The couple, along with Asian Games bronze medalist Karl Eldrew Yulo, were welcomed by the San Jose family in their return after a successful stint in Japan on Sept. 27.
