Metro Manila, Philippines – Public trust and satisfaction scores for the Senate fell in the second quarter, while those of the House of Representatives improved, according to the latest survey by OCTA Research.
Forty one percent of those surveyed said they trust the Senate, down by three points quarter-in-quarter. Twenty seven percent expressed distrust, up from 24 percent.
Satisfaction with the Senate performance also dropped by four points to 38 percent, while dissatisfaction was up by five points to 32 percent.
In contrast, the House of Representatives saw a higher trust rating to 38 percent from 36, while distrust declined by five points to 28 percent.
Satisfaction with the House also rose two points to 37 percent, while dissatisfaction fell to 32 percent from 35 percent.
The survey was conducted on July 4 to 11, coinciding with the Senate leadership row and eventual leadership change, as well as the opening of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte on July 6.
