Metro Manila, Philippines – Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new preview of its upcoming ‘Street Fighter’ film, giving fans their first extended look at Jason Momoa’s transformation into the iconic fighter Blanka.
The “Blanka v. Ryu Special Look” features Momoa facing off with Andrew Koji, who plays franchise protagonist Ryu, ahead of the movie’s Philippine theatrical release on Oct. 14.
Set in 1993, the film follows estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters, played by Noah Centineo, as they are drawn back into battle after Chun-Li, portrayed by Callina Liang, recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament.
According to the official synopsis, the tournament hides a deadly conspiracy that forces the longtime allies to confront each other as well as their own pasts.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film is based on Capcom’s long-running video game franchise and is produced by Legendary Pictures in association with Capcom. Momoa also serves as a co-producer.
