Metro Manila, Philippines — Authorities recovered three more bodies from the collapsed building under construction in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City on Sunday afternoon, bringing the death toll to 10.
The Unified Command reported that the additional victims were recovered between 2:51 p.m. and 4:33 p.m. during ongoing search, rescue, retrieval, and clearing operations at the collapse site.
The eighth victim, a female, was extricated from Quadrant 3, Sector 2 at around 2:51 p.m.
The ninth victim was recovered from the same area at approximately 3:43 p.m.
Later, at about 4:33 p.m., responders retrieved the 10th fatality from Quadrant 2, Sector 1, according to the Incident Command Post.
All recovered victims were turned over to the City Health Office for proper handling, documentation, and Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) procedures.
The latest recoveries came hours after authorities found the body of a seventh victim on Sunday morning. Officials said a vaccination card recovered from the rubble could help establish the victim’s identity, pending formal verification.
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II continues to monitor the situation as rescue teams press on with operations.
Search, rescue, retrieval, and clearing efforts remain ongoing as responders continue to search the debris for other possible victims.
The city government has assured affected families that it will continue providing necessary assistance as recovery efforts continue.
