Creamline reclaims PVL All-Filipino crown for 11th title

Metro Manila, Philippines – The Creamline Cool Smashers completed their redemption tour in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) after outlasting the Cignal Super Spikers, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-11, in Game 2 of the All-Filipino Conference finals on Thursday, April 23, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

It was defense that won the championship – their 11th overall and seventh in the All-Filipino – for the Cool Smashers, as Pangs Panaga and Tots Carlos shut the door on the Super Spikers’ attacks in the nail-biting fifth set to secure the crown for Creamline.

Bernadeth Pons made key contributions on both ends of the taraflex, tallying 22 points, 25 excellent digs, and 15 receptions for the Cool Smashers. She was named the Finals Most Valuable Player.

Carlos added 18 points for Creamline, while Jema Galanza and Panaga chipped in 12 points and 10 points, respectively, for the winningest team in the PVL.

Vanie Gandler exploded with a game-high 26 points but the PVL title remained elusive for Cignal.
