Metro Manila, Philippines – The pilots of Philippine Airlines (PAL) Express Flight GAP2544 will undergo an investigation into the pressurization incident that occurred during the Dumaguete–Manila flight on Sunday, April 19, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
The pilots were directed to report to the agency’s Flight Standards and Inspectorate Service (FSIS) which is responsible for ensuring the safe conduct of all aviation activities in the country’s airspace.
The aircraft declared an emergency and diverted to Iloilo International Airport after experiencing a cabin pressurization issue, which caused passengers to have breathing difficulties and led to the deployment of oxygen masks.
Medical assistance was promptly provided by airport medical personnel.
There were 175 passengers, including three infants on board, who disembarked safely after the aircraft landed at approximately 4:27 p.m on Sunday, April 19.
