Metro Manila, Philippines – The government has contracted 22,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) through the state-owned Philippine National Oil Company, the Department of Energy said on Wednesday, April 14.
It is the first volume of LPG – commonly used for cooking – ordered by the department since the Middle East conflict began.
“Magkakaroon na rin tayo ng konting buffer stock sa LPG,” said Sales.

Sales added that the department is actively looking for sources of LPG to boost inventory.
“But they are also continuing to look for other sources so that we have a continuous supply to sustain inventory levels,” he said.
