Where to enjoy New Year festivities? LGUs host community countdowns

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 31) — Several local government units in Metro Manila are holding free concerts and community fireworks displays to welcome the New Year.

Quezon City will be welcoming 2024 with a concert led by host-comedian Vice Ganda and iconic bands Mayonnaise, Shamrock, Cueshe and many more at the Quezon City Memorial Circle at 6 p.m.
Taguig City brought three-fifths of the Korean girl group Red Velvet to ring in the New Year with a bang. RV’s Irene, Seulgi, and Wendy, OPM icon Ely Buendia, Zack Tabudlo, KZ Tandingan, and Adie will be performing at 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City starting at 6 p.m.
Makati City, meanwhile, tapped Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, P-pop kings SB19, and Filipino acts Sponge Cola, Al James, and other musical theater artists. The countdown event will be held at the intersection of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue (near Ayala Triangle Gardens).
Other countdown events and free pyrotechnics shows will also be held in other cities in the region:
– City of Manila, Jones Bridge in Binondo
– Mandaluyong City, Greenfield District (5 p.m) and Mandaluyong City Hall (7 p.m.)
– San Juan City, Pinagbuhatan Shrine (10 p.m.)
