
Metro Manila (CNN Philippine, December 22)—The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Friday that it will be suspending the expanded number coding scheme on Dec. 25, 26, this year, and Jan. 1, 2024.
It however reiterated that the number coding scheme is still being implemented this week except for the said dates.

Meanwhile for seaports, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said in a statement Friday that it logged 40,928 outbound passengers and 34,652 inbound passengers in all ports nationwide at noon.
It said that 2,690 deployed PCG personnel inspected 74 vessels and 112 motorbancas.
\”The PCG has placed its districts, stations, and sub-stations on heightened alert from 15 December 2023 to 03 January 2024 to manage the influx of port passengers.
Meanwhile, the PCG based in Batangas City inspected the maritime vessels for the passengers’ embarkation, and pre-departure, as well as the safety types of equipment of the vessel.
