Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 11) — Twenty-seven overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Israel have arrived in the country on Monday just in time for the holidays.
They are the 11th batch of OFWs to return from Israel amid its war with militant group Hamas.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said the latest batch brings the total number of Filipino repatriates from Israel to 376, including 362 OFWs and their 14 children.
An all-out war erupted between Israel and Hamas after the latter launched a surprise attack on the country on Oct. 7, resulting in the deaths of thousands on both sides as well as four Filipinos.
Out of 137 Filipinos who were in Gaza when the Israel-Hamas war broke out, 119 had already crossed over to Egypt for safety as of Dec. 3.
