Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss welcomed news of Pacheco’s discharge. This is trauma for anybody, any human being. He will need some time to recover in the first 48 hours,” he said, adding Pacheco would be receiving cash assistance from the Israeli government because of his ordeal.
“For the first six months, he’s getting an equivalent of, I think, close to more than ₱100,000 a month,” said Fluss.
Truce seen to end
The four-day truce between Israel and Hamas, which allowed for the release of hostages by the Palestinian militant group, is expected to end on Tuesday.
Israel has set two main conditions on how the war could possibly end. First, the release of all the hostages, and making sure that Hamas won’t attack them again.
It is a pause as long as we are into this exchange, as long as Hamas releases hostages, Israel will be pausing,” said Fluss. “If Hamas will release 10 more (hostages) they will get more days of pause.
