
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 10) – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized smuggled cigarettes worth ₱27,587,500 from the Port of Davao, the agency said Friday.
The joint operation was conducted by the BOC and the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) on Monday, after it received a tip that a motorized banca was carrying the illicit goods.
A total of 35,850 reams of assorted cigarettes stored in 717 master cases were confiscated.
The BOC said that in late September, it seized ₱54,988,000 in smuggled cigarettes.
