LTO issues show cause order on car owner-escapee in Makati road incident

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 25) —The Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued on Wednesday a show cause order (SCO) on the owner of an orange MG ZS car who escaped from a Makati road incident on Oct 22.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II ordered the SCO as requested by the owner of the Vios vehicle that was hit while traveling southbound along the Ayala Tunnel in Makati City.

“Tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa tiwala ng ating kababayan nu’ng i-tag ang ating Facebook account sa kanyang social media post,\” Mendoza said in a statement.

[Translation: We are thanking the victim for their trust in tagging us in their Facebook post.]

\”In this regard, I have already instructed the LTO-National Capital Region headed by Regional Director Roque Verzosa III to conduct an immediate investigation into this incident,” he added.

The agency cited a Facebook post of the owner of the affected vehicle, who said he was with two senior citizens and a child when the MG ZS car with plate number NIF 2282 hit them from behind.

The social meda post added that the MG ZS driver did not pull over but instead drove away.
