Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 22) — A motor tanker caught fire at the Alpha Anchorage Area in Batangas on Sunday morning, killing one person, the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog said.
The Coast Guard Station (CGS) Batangas received a phone call that Motor Tanker Sea Horse was on fire around 9:00 am.
The CGS Batangas then coordinated with the multi-role response vessel BRP Bagacay, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Managament Office to request assistance in the conduct of firefighting.
The coast guard also launched a search and rescue operation. The fire was declared out at 11:08 a.m.
