LTFRB disburses ₱860M to Landbank for fuel subsidy

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, October 5) — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said Thursday it disbursed ₱860.97 million to the Land Bank of the Philippines for the distribution of fuel subsidies to public utility vehicles (PUV) operators and drivers.

The agency said 132,009 operators have been listed as beneficiaries of the Fuel Subsidy Program (FSP) of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the LTFRB as of Tuesday.

\”Samantala, 92,755 na yunit ng pampublikong sasakyan naman sa buong bansa ang nakatanggap na ng subsidiya na may katumbas na halaga na ₱605,186,000 sa ilalim ng Fuel Subsidy Program,\” it added.

[Translation: Meanwhile, 92,755 public utility vehicles nationwide have received the subsidy which amounts to ₱605,186,000 under the Fuel Subsidy Program.]

On Tuesday, the LTFRB approved the ₱1 provisional jeepney fare hike which will take effect nationwide on Oct. 8.

The minimum fare for traditional and modern jeepneys will be ₱13 and ₱15, respectively.
