Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 26) — The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) said it wants motorists to be able to use one RFID sticker and one wallet for toll payments in expressways operated by San Miguel Corporation and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation by June 2024.
\”We will conduct what they call user acceptance test sometime in December of this year,\” TRB Executive Director Alvin Carullo said at a Senate hearing.
\”Hopefully we can implement the interoperability project at least June 2024,\” he added.
Phase three of the toll interoperability project includes the one RFID and one wallet policy, meaning a single RFID sticker will be readable in both expressways and you need to purchase a load for both toll systems.
TRB is currently conducting a two-month dry run for contactless transactions in select toll plazas.
