Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 9) — Facebook umbrella company Meta silently updated its Messenger app, rolling out Instagram’s key Notes feature gradually to its users.
The notes feature, similar to the IG version, gives users an option to share short thoughts in 60 words or less to fit in a small thought bubble above their profile photo on Messenger.
The thought bubble will be shown to their friends using messenger in a span of 24 hours.
Meta first launched the function for Instagram direct messages in 2023 which users say are reminiscent of older messaging systems like AIM and MSN Messenger.
Users, however, have mixed reactions regarding this new update.
One netizen made fun of some of his friends, sharing screenshots of them seemingly taking swipes at each other.
