Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 25) — Actress Nadine Lustre on Friday said her role in the suspense-thriller film “Greed,” where she won best actress at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) 2023, was a risk she took as an artist.
“It was very bloody, gory, it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do and so it’s kind of a huge risk for me because it’s not the usual stuff that I’ve done and I’ve never done anything like this,” she told CNN Philippines’ New Day.
Directed by Yam Laranas, \”Greed\” tells the story of a couple who tries to flee their town after winning the lottery. However, things didn’t go as planned.
The actress said she is glad her latest project and hard work got recognized despite the challenges she faced.
\”This one is just a reminder or something that tells me that I’m doing the right thing, that I’m going on the right direction,” she added.
Following \”Greed,\” Lustre said she is already working on her next project entitled \”Nokturno\” with director Mikhail Red. The two previously worked together for the award-winning thriller \”Deleter.\”
