Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 23) — The Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) has approved the revised guidelines for international-bound Filipino travelers.
In a statement on Tuesday, the IACAT said the revision aimed to \” combat the grave menace of human trafficking.\”

Other than the usual travel requirements, the revised guidelines require self-funded travelers to present additional documents such as confirmed return or roundtrip ticket, proof of hotel booking or accommodation, financial capacity or source of income, and proof of employment.
For overseas travels sponsored by a relative or non-relative, an individual is required to secure an affidavit of support and guarantee notarized by a Philippine Embassy, Consulate, or Honorary Consulate.

Meanwhile, OFWs deployed for the first time also need to secure an OFW clearance issued by the Department of Migrant Workers as it appears in the agency’s Border Control Information System.
Minors traveling without their parents, on the other hand, shall present a travel clearance certificate issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
