Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 7) – Motorists will have to pay up to ₱4 more for fuel products starting Tuesday as another wave of price increases takes effect, oil companies announced.
In separate advisories on Monday, Cleanfuel, PPT and SeaOil said the per liter cost of diesel will be up ₱4, while the price of gasoline will rise by 50 centavos per liter.
Meanwhile, kerosene will go up by ₱2.75, Seaoil said.
According to the Department of Energy, the price adjustment resulted in a year-to-date net increase of ₱11 for gasoline and ₱3.10 for diesel, and a net decrease of 10 centavos per liter for kerosene.
This is the fifth consecutive week of fuel price increases.
Former Bayan-Muna Party-list Rep. Ferdinand Gaite earlier urged the government to craft “decisive measures” to address the consecutive increases in pump prices as it poses an additional burden to Filipinos in their daily expenses.
