Newly-engaged Bea Alonzo says no rush in setting wedding date

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 1) — Two weeks since the announcement of her engagement, actress Bea Alonzo said she’s in no hurry to make wedding plans and set a date when she will walk down the aisle.

She made the statement on the sidelines of an event by the Philippine Statistics Agency (PSA), which has hired her in a bid to shore up public support for its latest census that covers farms, fish ponds, and aquaculture businesses.

The PSA census on fisheries and agriculture is being conducted every 10 years since 1903.

The 2012 data showed the country has 5.56 million agricultural operators, 131,312 aquaculture operators, and 791,120 municipal fishing operators.

The statistics agency said it saw the need to tap the actress for this round – given her farming background. Alonzo said she began farming 12 years ago when she bought a farm in Zambales in 2011.

The actress first shared news about her engagement with Dominic Roque mid-July. Alonzo shared that they had been viewing wedding videos but opted to cherish first the fact that she is his fiancée.
