Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 31) — Land Transportation Office (LTO) chairman Vigor Mendoza II on Monday listed the plans and priorities of his administration as the newly-installed chief of the agency.
“We’re doing now a review of our organization. Ang laki ng LTO (The LTO is big) but we want to make it more efficient,” Mendoza told CNN Philippines’ The Source.
He said the LTO is currently conducting time and motion studies. A group of mystery applicants were deployed to determine the timeline of processes in the different district offices, he noted.
Data collected from this will be compared to the reports being submitted to LTO’s main office to check for accuracy, Mendoza said.
He added the LTO will also pursue regular inspections of public utility vehicles, which are usually done only during the holy week or holidays, to ensure they are roadworthy at any time.
