Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 29) — Rescuers have located the seven missing crew members of a distressed tugboat in the vicinity waters of Cagayan.
The Office of Civil Defense Region 2 said they were found safe Saturday morning, and authorities are monitoring their condition.
“Our team deployed in Camiguin-Calayan area passed by Camiguin Island and the seven crew members of the tugboat were found safe,” OCD Region 2 Director Leon DG Rafael said in a situational briefing in Tuguegarao City.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday sent four of its personnel to rescue the seven crew members of M/Tug Iroquois 21 nautical miles from Aparri. But they went missing themselves after their boat capsized.
There is still no sighting of the missing PCG rescuers, authorities said.
