
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 17) — The country saw a total of 1,938 new COVID-19 cases on July 10 to 16, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Monday.
In its weekly bulletin, the DOH said it recorded an average of 277 infections, reflecting a 23% decline from the week before.Of the fresh cases, 25 were in severe and critical condition.Meanwhile, 324 severe and critical patients are in hospitals, representing 8.8% of total COVID-19 admissions nationwide.Health officials also verified 26 deaths due to COVID-19, of which 17 occurred between July 3 and 16.As of July 17, the country has confirmed over 4.17 million COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. At least 4.09 million recovered, while 66,510 succumbed to the disease.Active cases stand at 5,681.
More than 78 million people or all of the target population have been vaccinated against COVID-19 including 23 million with booster shots.
