
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 10) – Despite criticisms on his appointment, the controversial and disbarred lawyer Larry Gadon took oath as Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation in Malacañang on Monday.
“I am aware that poverty alleviation is a huge task for this administration,” Gadon said. “I will be guided by the aim and advocacy of President Marcos to reduce poverty levels among the poorest Filipinos in the lowest strata of Philippine society.”

His oath taking ceremony came less than two weeks after the Supreme Court unanimously disbarred Gadon over a viral video where he is seen hurling expletives against a journalist.

The high court previously suspended Gadon’s license for three months in 2019 because of his use of “offensive” language towards a dermatologist who filed a complaint against him ten years before.
