Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 7) — A vintage bomb was retrieved by authorities beside a stall inside POP-UP Katipunan late Thursday afternoon, a police report stated.
According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the 81-millimeter vintage mortar bomb was discovered at around 5 p.m. by a service crew from one of the bars in the local al fresco hangout area.
The incident was also reported to the QCPD’s District Explosive Ordinance Disposal Canine Unit (DECU) at 9:10 p.m. after the service crew turned over the bomb to the security guard on duty.
Officers from the DECU-QCPD squad then arrived in the area to process the scene and conduct Render Safe Procedures.
The report said the station is still looking into the CCTV footage to identify the suspect who left the bomb.
