
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 28) — State-run University of the Philippines (UP) leads the list of Philippine universities in the latest world rankings by the United Kingdom-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
UP ranked the highest among the universities in the country at 404th place in the QS World University Rankings 2024. This is an improvement from its 412th spot in 2023.
Ateneo de Manila University ranked 563rd. It was followed by De La Salle University at 681-690 bracket and the University of Santo Tomas at 801-850 bracket.
Joining the top four schools is the University of San Carlos in Cebu City which made it to the 1201-1400 bracket.
The QS assessed 1,500 institutions worldwide based on the following metrics: academic reputation, citations per faculty, employer reputation, employer outcomes, faculty-student ratio, international faculty, sustainability, employment outcomes, and international research network.
\”The results draw on the analysis of 17.5m academic papers and the expert opinions of over 240,000 academic faculty and employers,\” the higher education information firm said.
