Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 20) – Former Senator and Armed Forces chief Rodolfo Biazon was laid to rest on Tuesday morning at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
Aside from his family, also present at the burial rites were Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro and former Defense chief Carlito Galvez, Jr.
Armed Forces chief Gen. Andres Centino and Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci, Jr., the Navy flag officer in command, also paid their last respects to the former public official.
Biazon, 88, died of pneumonia on June 12 after battling lung cancer since 2022.
His son Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon said he wants his father to be remembered as a humble and loyal public servant.
“Mula sa military career hanggang sa legislation (From his military career up to his legislation of bills), he remained the same: simple, faithful public servant,” he told reporters in a chance interview.
