(CNN Philippines, June 6) — The Philippines added two more gold medals in the 2023 ASEAN Para Games in Cambodia.
Ariel Joseph Alegarbes topped the men’s swimming 200m individual medley SM14, setting a new meet record of 2:18.19. He broke the previous record of 2:27.23 set by Malaysia’s Khoo Yin Jun.
It was Alegarbes’ second gold medal in the competition after ruling the men’s 50m butterfly S14 event on Monday.
Meanwhile, Angel Otom reigned supreme in the women’s 200m IM SM5 final.
