Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 13) — After suffering a loss to Indonesia, Gilas Women bounced back to dominate Vietnam, 116-58, Saturday in the 5×5 basketball tournament of the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The victory places the team at three wins and one loss in the tournament— or on track for at least a silver medal finish.
At one point, Gilas Women held a 60-point lead over Vietnam, which now has three losses and a win in the competition.
Shooting guard Khate Castillo led the Philippine squad with an impressive 22 points.
Jack Animam added 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Clare Castro contributed 15 markers.
